I encourage that you open up numerous boxes with the tile you are using for the shower. As you are generally setting the tile, use tile from several boxes to help take away any color variations in the tile from box to box.
Be sure to consider making cuts when environment tile. You can rent a ceramic tile saw to help with these cuts. If you are setting the tile without any help, I recommend installing full pieces of tile first. When you need to mix additional mortar is a superb time to measure and cut the needed fecal material tile. This way you do not have to worry about the thin set drying out when measuring and cutting tile one at a time.
To start setting the tile, spread the mixed mortar to the tile. Use a square notched trowel 1/4 of an inch to 3/8 of inch to spread the mortar over the tile. Refer to the manufacturer's directions for any mortar and use a correct sized trowel as for each their specifications.
Mass media the tile onto your wall. Firmly press each tile in place and give it a slight twisting motion to make sure it makes good contact with the adhesive. As you work the right path along the shower walls, place tile spacers on all four sides of each tile which keeps your grout lines in keeping with the other tiles which were set. Do not slide the tile regarding green ½ of an inch setting in place. Remove your first couple pieces of tile to check and make sure that the thin set is evenly applied on the tile.
When spreading the thin arranged, keep the thin set faraway from the edge of the tile. Wipe away any slender set that squeezes onto the surface of the tile. Make sure your first piece of tile is set square for your markings. If the first tile is off the rest of the tile will be off of. You may need to tap to the tile with a rubber mallet to make the tile flush while using the other tiles. Be sure to check on the tile periodically to assure the tile has not shifted. Stand back from the shower surround and evaluate the tile from a distance for any imperfections.
Repeat this procedure working your way down and up the wall until the entire field tile is arranged. Be sure to check the tile as you move along the wall to be sure that the tile you set does not shift and to verify your grout lines are generally consistent. Let the tile dry every day and night. Then, remove the ledger board and install the rest of the field tile. You also install the trim tile at this point.
